Hi, I'm Ana Raman
Welcome to Bold New Quests!
I believe challenges are essential to our evolution. They force us to confront who we are, what we value, and how we want to live. Adversity, while uncomfortable, offers an immense opportunity to learn — about ourselves, others, and the world around us.
I’m constantly exploring what’s possible, both within and beyond myself. I challenge my own limits to understand what drives performance, how to set meaningful goals, and what it really takes to become better. Along the way, I’ve developed practical tools, experiments, and systems that help turn reflection into progress.
The process of experimentation and exploration is necessary to grow.
My mission is to inspire people to explore life’s possibilities through their challenges. I’ve learned that curiosity is one of the most powerful tools we have. When we approach life’s challenges with a sense of wonder, ask questions, and stay open to growth, we begin to change — and that change ripples outward while helping our inner selves thrive.
I’ve lived many lives: navigating the corporate world, changing careers, moving cities, competing in amateur sports, raising a family, and thriving through cancer treatment. Each phase has shaped my understanding of what it means to grow stronger through disruption and uncertainty.
It’s why I’m drawn to the idea of becoming stronger and better because of challenge, not in spite of it. A term I’ve learned that captures this concept well is antifragility. Much of my effort is invested in building an antifragile life.
I’m still learning, still experimenting, and still exploring what it means to become antifragile. I’m doing this by undertaking new quests and trying to live life boldly.
My Life
I live in Ottawa with my husband, our son, and our sweet mini schnauzer, Tilley. My son and pup help keep a vibrant sense of wonder, reminding me to stay curious, playful, and grounded in the present. They help me see life through fresh eyes — a good reminder that growth doesn’t always have to be serious.
I was raised by two incredible parents — hardworking, generous, and kind people who taught me the importance of humility, perseverance, and seizing opportunity. My big sister has always been a steady source of support and inspiration, and I’m grateful every day for the strong foundation my family gave me.
Family remains my top priority. They are the anchor that keeps me centered and the constant reminder of what truly matters. Every moment I get to spend with them is time I don’t take for granted.
My career has taken me across this beautiful country that is Canada, where I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of industries — from banking and energy to life sciences, tech, and retail. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some of the most talented and creative people in the country, and those experiences have shaped how I think about leadership, growth, and resilience. I have an MBA from Dalhousie University and a BSc. in Psychology from Carleton University.
Vitality is one of my core values. I believe joy and energy are essential to a well-lived life. I find both through the things I love — playing tennis, practicing the violin, staying active, and exploring what it means to feel fully alive.
